Environ of Bangkok   

Another excursion for Bangkok tourists is the swimming markets of Dammnoen Saduak. We reached this touristy place in 2 hours by car from Bangkok. The way leads through a very lush, fruitful and beautiful landscape. Right before we arrived we were shipped together with the people of 20 other tourist busses into longtailboates. 

We were very glad, that we had a guided private tour and therefore we had a longtailboat for us alone. We arrived the well-known market in ½ hour in high speed.

The market with hundreds of boats offers all kinds of vegetables, fruit, animals and other goods for sale, also many open-air kitchens. This very colourful and exotic experience which we don’t want miss, despite of the many tourists. It was really more than a big highlight. 

Our next destination was the famous River Kwai Bridge, the symbol of the war events of 1945. We visited there the reconstructed accommodation barracks of the prisoners of war with shudder and frightening as well as the military cemetery in that nearly 7000 soldiers are buried. If you don’t think about the earlier horrible events, the bridge and the banks of the river with their swimming restaurants look very romantic and very nice.
